Cellular Jail is a major place of the visit when at Andaman and Nicobar Islands which takes the travellers through the past. Located in the capital city of Port Blair, Cellular Jail is also known as Kala Pani. Most of the famous freedom fighters of India like Veer Savarkar and Batukeshwar Dutt were put into this prison by the Britishers who are known to have built it. 10 years of time was taken to construct the prison which has been built in the pronged architectural style. A walk through the Jail provides the tourists with an opportunity to view the picture gallery where the photos of freedom fighters are displayed to the people. It is been considered as a National Monument where movies related to India history are often filmed. The Exhibition Gallery, Art Gallery and Netaji Gallery are other sights that can be captured when inside the Cellular Jail.
